How to Use Acrylic Spray Paint?

Acrylic spray paint are one of the most popular colors among painters because they are flexible, they dry fast and one of the major benefit is you can use them right from the tube. You can also use them with water as a lot of people use them as water colors as well. If you are novice and looking for various tips to get started with Acrylic spray paint here is what you can do :-

1. Make sure you only squeeze a little paint out of the tube because acrylic colors dry fast. If you are one of those using just a plastic palette for colors, it is advised to buy a spray bottle so that you can spray a fine mist over the paint regularly to keep it moist. You don’t need to use stay-wet palettes that sit on a sheet of wax paper on the top of water color paper.

2. When using these spray paints, or using them as water colors you need to develop a habit of wiping of your brush and for that you can keep a towel or a paper towel next to your water jar. Also this will be helpful in preventing water dropping down the ferrule that can even move to your painting and cause blotches.

3. You can use these spray paints in the opaque or transparent form. In order to do this, you can apply the paint densely with the help of the tube or with the help of less water or with an additional while that will make all the paints opaque. However, if thinned, they can also be used as watercolors for various purposes like airbrushing.

4. If you wish to enhance the color flow with smallest loss of color strength. It is advised to use improve medium rather than using water.

5. If you wish to get transparent glazes in your painting, you can build it up in thin layers you will see a heavy layer of glossy surface that will be produced.

6. For getting the hard edge look you can simply put up masking tape which you can remove from the acrylic paint when its dry but you need to make sure that it doesn't damage the existing later. This will help you to produce hard and sharp edges that can be fixed down and also make sure that you don’t paint too densely on the edges.

7. In order to get the right blend of colors into your painting, you need to work a little faster because acrylic paints dry fast and it can be really difficult to mix them ones they are dry.

8. You can also use masking fluid with acrylic washes and also with water colors. However, you need to be very sure that they are dry before you paint over them and also make sure that you don’t paint too quickly because there are chances that you might have to scratch away the paint in order to get hold of the making fluid.
